How the practice runs day to day, and what you can expect from us.
Appointments and walk-ins
We see both booked appointments and walk-in patients. Booked patients are given priority, so walk-in visits can involve longer waits. Longer consultations are available on request when booking. Appointments can be made by phone or online through HotDoc, including telephone consultations.
After-hours care and home visits
Home visits and after-hours care are provided by the National Home Doctor Service on weekdays from 6:00pm to 8:30am, and from 1:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Call 13 7425. In an emergency, always call 000.
Test results
Test results are given during a consultation so their implications can be properly discussed with your doctor.
Telephone and email messages
Messages for your doctor are returned at the earliest opportunity. Email and website enquiries are reviewed each business day.
Reminders and recalls
We run a computerised reminder system for health checks, immunisations and chronic condition reviews, by SMS or phone. You can opt out at any time by letting our reception team know.
Referrals
Your doctor may refer you for tests or specialist care. Referral letters are provided to you directly or sent electronically by the practice.
Your medical records
The practice is committed to keeping your health information confidential. Medical records are accessed by your treating practitioners; administrative staff cannot view them.
Accessibility and communication
We can arrange verbal explanations of written material, enlarged print, translation services, and Auslan interpreting for patients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Feedback and complaints
We welcome your feedback and suggestions, in person, by phone or by email, or through the suggestion box at reception. If something has gone wrong, please tell us first so we can put it right.
